Scriptural views on prosperity

Making a Difference

making a difference

God sent Jesus to preach good news to me, to heal my broken heart, to announce my freedom from the prison house of sin and death, and to pardon me. He sent Him to announce to me the year of His grace – a celebration of the destruction of my enemies – and to comfort me as I mourn, to care for my needs, to give me bouquets of roses instead of ashes, messages of joy instead of news of doom, to give me a praising heart instead of a languid spirit. He renamed me an Oak of Righteousness planted by Him to display His glory! (Based on Isaiah 61:1-3 MSG)

This affirmation tells me that God wants me to grow and flourish in all areas of my life; He wants me to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

You have probably heard of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. It’s not new. This is the hierarchy:-

Level 5 – Self-actualisation / fulfillment
Level 4 – Self-esteem & recognition
Level 3 – Belonging & love
Level 2 – Safety & security- self-preservation
Level 1 – Physiological – food & shelter, survival

Maslow puts self-centred needs at the bottom – the basic needs, but finishes off with self-actualisation at the top – orientation to service and connection with others. These needs are genuine. They are part of our humanity – the way God has made us. The higher needs in this hierarchy only come into focus when the lower needs are met. Once an individual has moved upwards to the next level, needs in the lower level will no longer be prioritised. If a lower set of needs is no longer being met, the individual will temporarily re-prioritise those needs by focusing attention on the unfulfilled needs, but will not permanently regress to the lower level. E.g. a man having an asthma attack focuses at that moment purely on the need for air, rather than the need for a sense of fulfillment in his life …

Accept the gifts

I accept

Recently I’ve realised more fully that the best I can do for my Saviour is to accept everything He has done, and wants to do, for me! If I invite Him to do so, He will give me faith, cleansing from sin, and love. These three gifts empower me to live the Christian life – a life of success and fulfillment.

Therefore I speak these words of affirmation and power:-

“I have faith in Jesus Christ – I accept it”

“I am covered by the merits of Jesus’ blood – I accept the atonement”

“I am filled with His love – I accept His love for me and His pouring it into my heart”

The Bible verses that I claim are:-

1 Corinthians 12.7-9 NIV Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,

Romans 12.3 NIV …in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

Jude 1.3 CEV …I must write and ask you to defend the faith that God has once for all given to his people.

1 John 1:7 NIV But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Lev 17.13 NLT It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible.

Rev 7.15 NIV And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Romans 5:5 NKJV Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Coming to Terms with Life

I want to continue exploring what the Bible says about mastering your life. I believe in the Bible and I believe it has the power to change lives. I am putting my life forward. I want to change. Religion however is something else. It has caused more heartache and problems, including wars, than anything else that has existed in the world. I love the Bible but hate religion. I love and appreciate many things about the Bible and Christianity because the Bible is a book that makes sense. Christianity is a faith that can be tested. It is built on truth. It is built on evidence. It is built on prophecy. It is built on fact.

bible There are many life mastery programs out there. I am researching the Bible because I believe the other programs fall short on principles. I believe it is impossible to reach your full potential without a complete belief on the Bible and the God of the Bible. Everything around us testifies to a creator God. Any intelligent person has to acknowledge the presence of a Creator God. Look around you. Look at everything in our universe how orderly it is. Look at all the laws that govern every single aspect of our universe.

Look at the watch on your arm. The watch did not come by existence by itself. It came into existence by organised intelligence. Some form of intelligence, a human one. Suppose the watch has a hundred parts in it. Take the parts and disassemble them. Put the parts in a box. You can shake the box for a hundred billion years and the watch parts will never assemble themselves into a smooth working watch. That is correct. Now that is a simple watch with a hundred parts.

Consider now our entire universe. Think about how well the different parts of the universe work together, in perfect harmony. Look at all the laws that are fixed and govern everything. Look at yourself. The image of God. As God created you. Your own internal world. Your ability to love and be loved. Your ability to reproduce someone else just like yourself. That is not the result of random chance. It cannot be. There is all kinds of evidence that there is a Creator God and this God has an incredible plan for your life.

In fact can I know this God? Can this God make an overall difference in my life. Can God make a difference in my overall success and achievement in life? The answer is an absolute YES. I want to tap into this source of power that I have only had a glimpse of before. God’s power is limitless. There is no end to the power that can come into our lives when we connect to God, in a relationship with Him.

weightsuccess Most people go through life powerless. Completely powerless. Which is easier to be good or to be bad? The typical answer is BAD. Is it easier to be positive or negative to life? Always the typical answer is negative. Is it easier to do wrong or to do what is right? It is easier to do wrong. Is it easier to be a failure or a success? Easier to be a failure. Why is it easier to be bad, negative, to do wrong and to be a failure? Why? What is the cause? It boils down to a simple three letter word. SIN.

Sin is the single most detrimental thing there is in the world to destroy your life. Sin is the greatest enemy to your success and achievement in life. Sin is the most debilitating emotion that people feel on a daily basis. Sin brings on feelings like guilt and shame and anger and defeat. Sin destroys yourself worth. It destroys your relationships. It can be devastating to your finances. It will ruin your health. Sin is the underlying root cause of all our poverty and inability to live lives of success and power. This is an absolute Bible fact. Inside of everybody in our societies there is a desire for something better in our lives. Everybody wants more happiness. Everybody wants more money in their life. Everybody wants a better marriage and fulfilling relationships.

You are reading this because there is a desire in you to have a better life, to achieve more, to master things in your life. Everybody has that desire. Where does that desire come from? Who put that desire in you? How does it exist? What does the Bible tell us? God. God put that desire in you. It is my Creator who actually put that feeling in me. God has created every single one of us as human beings of unlimited potential. Unlimited greatness and unlimited power. Jesus says, “I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly”. And God knows that the single most damaging element in my life to keep me from achieving that success and that power is the thing called sin. The good news is that God knows how to get rid of sin and put in its place the unlimited power that will live in my life.

Anchored in the Word

The principles of success are amazingly powerful and many different world views embrace them. But what differentiates the Christian life success message from that of the atheist, the humanitarian or the New Age movement? We all talk about positive thinking, dreaming, goal-setting, believing in yourself, the mastermind principle, the power of the subconscious, mentorship and association, communication… Don’t miss a success boat that can move you from an ordinary life to an extra-ordinary one. We have a responsibility to be everything that God planned for us to be.

handhold So what distinguishes the Christian view point? I believe our boat is uniquely anchored in God’s Word. This prevents us from drifting, and from being buffeted around by every current or wind of doctrine. We need a firm stable anchor. He who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6 NIV.

If we have drifted off course in our lives, we can come back to God. In fact the Lord invites us to. Admit that you rebelled against the Lord your God… I will bring you back to the land of Israel… And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding. Jeremiah 3:13-15 NLT. I desire those shepherds, or mentors, sent from God, to guide me with knowledge and understanding.

Don’t get caught up in a sweeping tide of indulgence and luxury. Always remember that it is God who gives prosperity, so that we can share with others. Jesus advises us not to trust in riches. Get riches but don’t trust in them. Anchor yourself in these truths and you will stay steady as you develop and achieve.

Reasons to make money

One of the most incredible discoveries that I have made is that I am the architect of my own future. God works through my subconscious to put me at the right place, at the right time, with the right people, for my dream, my vision, to become a reality, that goal that I have identified. God has given me a worthwhile goal. For a long time I have not understood this. God communicates through the mind, putting me exactly where I need to be. It is not an accident. I have a vision of being economically free. I have a dream of setting an example for my children. There are many reasons that drive us to desire to succeed. God arranges things in my life and in yours too. I was introduced to a number of business opportunities with my wife. Such an opportunity is nothing more than a vehicle of success. So reading this blog is not a fluke. Can you see God’s direction?

To step out from your comfort zone requires guts. Gutless people do not succeed. You do not succeed unless you have motivation. That desire to change the circumstances of your life begins with your own life. I have to change. Once you have found a way to succeed, the only person that can stop you from succeeding is yourself. I am the only one that can stop me from succeeding.

joe Step one is to find someone who has succeeded in life in your chosen vehicle of success and get the best advice you can get so that you make the fewest mistakes. Now I have made mistakes. I fail daily. I make my own mistakes. I make mistakes that no one else can make but me. The great news is that the foundation to all success is failure. Willingness to fail is to learn. That is why I have put myself and my wife and everybody that joins our team on an educational program. We get on an educational program so that we can succeed. If you are not teachable you are wasting time. Create in your life opportunities to learn. I begin with the Bible. I study the patriarchs, the Bible characters. I study the founding fathers of the church, good men in history, successful men and women of today. I know that if I do not master the principles of success I will not live the dream I want in life. Hey no direction then I will just drift along.

You have first of all got to believe in the business you do. You have to be absolutely sure you are doing the right thing. To become a successful entrepreneur you have got to learn what has been done before. Then you have to teach it correctly. We have chosen the network marketing model of business. In other blogs I will explain why network marketing. We will not apologise for this. We set out to make money and we teach others to do the same. When we make money we do good things with the money. I made mistakes in life as I said earlier. I have acquired huge debts. These failures are foundations upon which to build success. So God teaches me to prosper. We do good things with the money like pay our debts. God does not want His people to be in debt. Therefore if you are in debt you have a good reason to need to make money like me. Do not be fooled into the ‘God will provide’ syndrome. It is a trap. Run away from it. I have been there and only got myself in more debt.

Your dreams in life should never stop. Your first dream may be to get rid of the job. Be free from the need for a job. Your dream may be like mine, “Let’s get out of debt”. I also dream of controlling money and not letting it control me. Moving on with your life you may ask, “Why should I succeed?” One of the biggest reasons to succeed is to give to your father and mother, if they are still living something to be proud of. Another reason to desire success is because of family. If your family is like mine then they will desperately need help. I lost my mother and father but Julia still has her mother and we so much want her to be proud of us. Personally I want my children to be proud of me. Do not be fooled dear friend into just doing a job even if it is a good job, and hope to achieve. We will talk about jobs later also. This is a spiritual blog coming from the heart and we will explore God’s requirements, His promises and how wonderful they are. At the same time we invite you to contact us for the solutions too, the practical solutions.
